Euronews’ Afghanistan correspondent Brazilian Anelise Borges has been nominated for an International Emmy Award for covering the crisis triggered by the re-election of the Taliban in the Asian country.
Anelise’s work was awarded in the News category by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, one of the most important awards in world television.
In addition to the European tool, TV Globo was also nominated to cover the Prevention Senior case that emerged during the Senate Pandemic CPI. In the category of News and Current Affairs, TV Record’s “Domingo Espetacular” program was nominated for a Parkinson’s special program.

Other candidates nominated for the award in the news category were Al Jazeera English, which covered the return of the Taliban to power in Afghanistan, and British ITV News, which was among the crowd raiding the US Capital.
TV Globo’s “Jornal Nacional” is the fourth candidate for the Prevention Senior health plan for showing how it uses elderly patients diagnosed with covid-19 as guinea pigs for treatments without scientific evidence.
TV Record was nominated in the News & Current Events category for a special report on “The Magnificent Sunday,” which showcases a new treatment for Parkinson’s disease.

The BBC was also nominated for its “African Eye” program, which tells the story of Black Cleaver, one of the most feared crime groups in Nigeria and in the world.
