Tomorrow Wednesday will begin the 2nd edition of TEGE, the II Latin American Festival of Performing Activities with Gender Themes, between April 20 and 24 at the Centro Cultural Cultura del Sur, Av. Meeks 1066, Temperley.

It is a performing arts festival in which more than 15 casts from Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Uruguay, among others, will participate, in mixed formats (face-to-face and virtual).

Programming (free or with popular tickets of $ 500 per show) includes plays, performances, Latin American dance, Uruguayan murga, workshops, talks and fairs for entrepreneurs linked to various themes such as gender violence, the role of motherhood, the LGBTQI+ collective, women in Latin American culture, among others.

The works can be seen at Cultura del Sur, in the Plaza de la Estación Temperley and on the YouTube channel.

Artists like Thelma Fardin, Kumbia Queers, Laura Azcurra, Mariana Astutti, Maruja Bustamante, Zuleika Esnal, Muriel Santa Ana, Anabel Cherubito, from Argentina and companies and casts like Mala Madre and Caótica from Chile, Ñangupé from Uruguay, Mitzy from Peru will be part, Lonra from El Salvador, among other proposals such as Uruguayan murga by Baila la chola, live VJs, Lambé Lambé, Clown and the Viva Vintage fair.

The beginning of 2021

The first edition of the festival in March 2021 was attended by 15 national and international casts and more than a thousand spectators. TEGE is a space for meeting, promoting and exchanging performing arts created by women and sexual diversity from different countries in Latin America.

  • Wednesday, April 20 – 7:30 pm: Talk “Creative Women. The movement of women and diversity in the current context ”with Thelma Fardin, Noemi Frenkel, Muriel Santa Ana and Ale Bavera.
  • Thursday, April 21 – 5 pm: Word workshop with Zuleika Esnal.
  • Thursday, April 21 – 6:30 pm: Dance. Putting the roots, the Afro-Latin American danced in the plaza of Temperley Station.
  • Thursday, April 21 – 8:30 pm: Theater. Mare of Belen Gatti and Maruja Bustamante.
  • Friday, April 22 – 6:00 pm: Performance. The collective is already starting in the Plaza de la Estación de Temperley.
  • Friday, April 22 – 7:00 pm: Clown. Shading by Mariela Panela in the square of Temperley Station.
  • Friday, April 22 – 9:00 pm: Theater. Camille, the cursed Zuleika Esnal.
