The Phi Foundation is none other than Yayoi Kusama, one of the most in-demand contemporary artists in the world, to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a free exhibition.

This will be the 93-year-old Japanese’s first major exhibition in Quebec, pointing to the foundation in the event description on its website.

Title Yayoi Kusama: Dancing Lights That Flyw Up to the Universe [un ballet de lumières envolées dans l’univers]the exhibition will host three of its famous pumpkin-shaped bronze and viewing rooms with mirrors, among other works by the artist.

In the latest room of mirrors, which gave the exhibition its title, the bulbs hanging from the ceiling dazzled the visitors and changed from white to red before suddenly exiting, plunging the audience into darkness. The work is remembered the endless cycle of life and rebirthaccording to the Phi Foundation.

A reading room will make it possible to discover the life and career of the artist who has had many people running around the world with his immersive experiences.

The exhibition will be on display from July 6, 2022 to January 15, 2023 at the Phi Center, in Montreal. Access is free, but you will need to reserve a time slot. Those who want to attend can register on a website (New window) to inform the launch of the ticket office for the exhibition.
