A feature of Perrone’s extensive filmography is that he always does everything in his neighborhood, Ituzaingó, where he is a kind of living legend and popular citizen. In fact, he manages the Ituzaingó International Film Festival (FECI) and has directed a free film workshop in the local municipality for 22 years.

-When did you shoot this new film?
-I did this in 2019, a year in which I made three films. This is the penultimate, before the pandemic. My original intention was to start it out, but then the pandemic arose and I didn’t want to wait any longer, and I knew I would always have a chance to get to BAFICI.

-One detail is that the protagonists appear to be swimming in a pool. You removed the neighborhood kids from the football cliché.
-All the actors were kids who had a very hard life. They are between 17 and 20 years old and go to a development center for support. This is the La Torcaza Development Center, where there is a summer vacation camp and among other things they play soccer, but it seems more incredible to shoot them underwater. And by the way to not fall into the obvious, which is something that always worries me.
-How’s the shooting?
-There are some children’s stories that are great for what they tell, and I showed them looking at each other and trying to fall in love. They were all from a casting I did at the development center. It took me many days because many did not want to join. It almost works like a documentary. Then I started filming and right there I saw a girl who was sitting and I asked her if she wants to act. He became the hero.
