Although on the market they are found under different denominations – such as frescoes, body sketches, fogcolonies or fresh waters (fresh water)– they all have the same power against the stress produced by high temperatures: refresh and revitalize from the first spray.
“These are concepts that renew themselves and give mobility to the market with novelties in each new season. They mostly have floral, citrus, fruit and herb arrangements; and the use of the atomizer helps an abundant, homogeneous and light application, making it the ideal product for this time of year”, explains Andrea Krigum, Product & Development Manager of L’Oval.
Another of its characteristics is that “they are fragrances that perfume softly, delicately and without invading as they have a low concentration of essences and raw materials. This differentiates them from a perfume which, thanks to the high dosage of oil, achieves greater fixation and intensity, given that its objective is to provide greater persistence over time”, adds Victoria Lavazza, Marketing Manager of Violetta Cosméticos.
“Furthermore, the perfume is placed sporadically and in specific places where the sustainability of the aroma on the body works best, such as the wrists or at the level of the carotids. On the contrary, THE sketches they are even sprayed on clothes for more pregnancy. Furthermore, the ideal is to renew its application every 3 hours”, explains Lucila Magrans, Category manager by BSG Cosmetics.
For its use it is convenient to follow some guidelines. “They are preferably used during the day, as they are fragrances associated with the day by the aforementioned olfactory density. It happens that, in general, nocturnal aromas are denser, stronger and based on more suggestive ingredients, such as wood, amber and cassis,” explains Magrans.
“Likewise, they can be transported without any problems, as long as they are not exposed to direct sunlight. In this sense, it is essential to avoid exposure to temperatures above 30°. In this way the essence does not accelerate its useful life and its oxidation”, reveals Magrans.
For his part, Krigum says the aroma lasts longer on days of extreme heatthe important thing is to hydrate the skin well before applying the summer waters: “This gesture improves the persistence of the fragrance in the dermis and it is effective to do it after a shower and with a light cream which ideally has the same essence as fresh water.”
“Then, spray on areas such as hair, wrists, ankles, behind the ears. The colognes, built with a high percentage of citrus essential oil, allow you to enjoy extra energy, prolonging the sensation of a recent bath, and in some occasions They help the body to relax, for example after physical activity or a tiring day’s work.
Another crucial fact is that its use is not recommended when sunbathing, because it can cause spots on the skin and even irritate it.”.
While, Magrans supports it Aguas frescas are a very noble product where the trend is aligned with that of perfumes:
“In the case of Isadora, we have 4 different fragrances in two different formats, one for the bag and the other for the home. Our compositions are: freesia, apple and amber (flower side); grapefruit, neroli and citron (My new favorite); cassis, jasmine and roses (now cool); and pear, strawberry and praline (More about her). They all have 6% essence, unlike perfumes which have 12%.
present sustainability
Sustainability is also present within this category of products.
“This season we can highlight that most of the luxury brands have developed lines with products and essences with higher percentage of natural components and they are formulating their fragrances with alcohol from organic farming or with a higher percentage of water”, reveals Mayra De Lorenzi, Beauty editor and Lipstick PR.
But there’s more. “As more and more people demand vegan fragrances, ingredients like honey are no longer used. It is an incipient trend that is growing and that we will have to pay attention to. The same goes for containers, then several brands are implementing the use of recharges for refilling and reuse”, says Krigum.
This is what the Adolfo Dominguez brand does in its collection of feminine soft waters, whose bottles are recycled, recyclable and reusable. With sustainability as the central axis of its collection, this company has incorporated a packaging small in size, with paper that comes from managed forests or that uses recycled fibers and ecological cellophane as raw materials.
Likewise, the bottles are made from recycled glass, have a wooden cap and water-based paint. Finally, their fragrances are vegan and biodegradable.
