We caress the baby we think we’re still carrying inside, but the joke of fate lets us know that Kiss is putting on a pretty cheesy show with a master of ceremonies who -unfortunately- understands everything of what he says, and it was capable of naming the city of Buenos Aires more times than Cacho Castaña in his entire life.

Because of some quantum miracle, Paul Stanley’s eloquence focused on all stone demagoguery.

But Kiss put on a real show. We thought to put: “how good is the Cat replacement” or “how good is the Extraterrestrial replacement”. Furthermore, they are so good that we should know their names, and yet there is a strange objection, you will excuse, that prevents us from advancing the information:

Old-school kissers, not all of them, are often so hostile and disrespectful and they like to think they’re the originals, and they look the same for a reason. Paul and Gene Simmons certainly want us to believe that exactly.

A rock journalist tells us: “The casting of these people – I don’t even know their names – is infallible.” True, Gato is doubly better at singing than Gene Simmons and more than that he will be seen worthy and surpassed on the piano when he is proud to make his own interpretation of Beth.

Like Miranda !, Kiss gradually became a duo of Stanley and Simmons. Even, These two assholes have made their mark as the best live band in the worldwhich suggests, initially, that rock was a healthy subject that allowed some enthusiastic buffoons to cope with their seventh decade of touring the planet.

You don’t have to take things seriously

Kiss is the perfect show that you don’t have to take things seriously (No rock star, Kurt Cobain!).

That this music dubbed “rebellious”, which is veteran and originally machirula, is gaining a certain weight in museums and that in the long run, rock is ideal for knitting as they do, in one piece on stage , try spastic choreographies, filling stadiums, covering themselves with twine and singing -for almost 50 years!-a handful of songs that don’t try to be more than what they are.

Stanley and Simmons, “Evil Star” and “Vampire”. Eighty denominations. From the distance they offer us to the privilege of the VIP sector, they look exactly the same as in 1975.

Kiss chose a repertoire of their own classical music for goodbye. A big thank you along Detroit rock city, Love Gun, Beth, but also I was Made For Loving You, Rock and Roll All Nite, Cold Gin, Dr. Love, Love Gun, Black Diamond, and other songs that don’t leave our turntables.

The beauty of their departure. We had to be there because we are grateful people who are informed that a dearest rock band is saying goodbye, never to return. It would be dishonest of us that, in communicating such an event, we would be found gone without notice.

Its compulsive and small evolutionary credentials are beautiful, with dozens of sexual hymns and songs that aren’t really convoluted, made based on expressions that rarely escape the logic of “I like rock”.

hardcore fans

The stage is a video game full of lights and explosions consecutive shock yun as in a scary show of good quality. And the rock audience, ahhh …, a charm that dates back to the last century and should be declared a World Heritage Site. People who write you a blank check and prefer to see the same show a thousand times.

But the tenderness of this crowd at Polo Field (50,000 people) is nameless: many “kisseros” painted more Simmons than Stanley, parents with children, more men than women, more women than in teenage girls, everyone hopes to be a part. ng a mega costume party.

Rock was music for kids, when they were kids: now it’s just music where many exponents are happy and naturally die in old age like Hilda Bernard.

We are from the time when the formation of Kiss came from memory and we had to deal with the fact that we liked a group that questioned, among other things, the SS written in Nazi printing. From the times the first guitar is mentioned in approximate English: “Eis Fresley”.

We thought that until then, the group was important. Prior to the departure of Peter Criss and Frehley themselves, vinyl or cassette editions, imported or domestic, were expected, or the songs were copied to a TDK. Later, in the mid-’90s, the group itself paid tribute to the Great Group that had previously been by putting together a unplugged on MTV with the original members, and once again became the best live number on the planet.

The kiss no longer existed

Formally, Kiss no longer existed this Saturday night with relatively low volume, which sometimes displeased everyone present. But in the distant ’80s it had ceased to be a rock band to become an entertainment industry, uniquely suited for all viewers.

They seduce the fading (naked1980), they later faded, began to lose interest in the fashion trend, they came to nightclubs with I Was Made To Love You and they weren’t able to record a concept album that became the biggest flop of their career, Music From Seniors1981. No one thought Kiss was recognizable to Pink Floyd.

Tolerable change of members until Eric Carr. Aesthetic choices bordering on disco music. See that Paul Stanley without makeup is like Osvaldo Laport. too.

In the ’80s -ask-, there were only two popular bands in Argentina: Kiss and Queen. For some strange reason, they compete and you belong to one or you belong to one. Times without partisan politics where the split between Almendra-Manal, Beatles-Stones or Piazzolla-Troilo was fixed. Kiss and Queen also uses the short fuse of the dichotomy.

a traditional show

Sound of recital tonight elementary and landscape. A show that is very traditional in its gimmicks, which sometimes makes us nervous. Kiss always has a good reason for something to explode as Simmons – and his straight bassline – make people happy by releasing a phenomenal 17 -centimeter bra -free tongue.

Extra lightning and lightning when singing God of Lightning. That’s about the farewell that will lead to self -destruction at the festival rock and roll all night.

This is the trend of the two -hour show. Stanley moved his hip (underwent surgery) and soon he flew over us from a zip line with his large shoes glowing like glass spheres. You think thoughtfully: is this tour over and no more stars painted in the right eye?

Separate the paragraph for him: if anything is not in question it is Stanley’s voice. Because of him — not because of Simmons —, because of the voice of the second most important Paul in rock, Kiss had a local rivalry with none other than Freddie Mercury. We understand this now when we see him sing and speak with a particular stridency, between epic, neighborhood and despotic.

The music of kissing is the same old story. In Van Gogh’s ear, enough is enough. Better to focus on watching, on looking at the fun entertainment that certainly inspired the creator of Cirque du Soleil. If there is a band that understands that rock is attitudinal, perceptive and physical, that band is Kiss. A primitive experience without question.

“See how he plays …!”, Was heard at the closing. Sure, you have to watch because the ending is more than just a recital, it’s another scary bye-bye to missing childhood.
