how they met
Martin Scorsese told the specialized American media Variety who met Celina Murga in 2008 when she was responsible for the artistic mentorship of Rolex, and chose the Argentinian director because he was “very impressed by his feature films, Anne and the others AND a week alone“.
“I am thrilled that Celina, Marina (De Tavira) and Joaquín (Furriel) are combining their unique talents to tell this story,” Scorsese told the North American publication about the team. The scent of freshly cut grass.
Fifth Murga film, after Anne and the others, a week alone, Normal school AND the third shoreis written by the director together with Juan Villegas and Lucía Osorio, with the collaboration of Gabriela Larralde.
The excellent relationship between Celina Murga and Martin Scorsese, and its sponsorship in the Rolex Scholarship, had already been made into a film in which they worked together, the third shore.
After completing the Rolex Fellowship, in June 2009, director Entre Ríos watched the filming of The sinister island, by Scorsese, while the American director collaborated on the treatment and screenplay of The Third Shore. This film centered around a 16-year-old boy who was torn between pursuing his dreams and his father’s wishes. The story took place in Entre Ríos.
“Scorsese had a great role, in a very human sense. He was very generous with his time and encouraged me to ask him what I needed instead of pushing me to do things his way. Being my executive producer is something wonderful and will allow us to have European and North American financial support,” Murga explained at the time.
