Ricardo Piniro the great fashion businessman who stood out in the 90s when he discovered and launched to fame great models who still work today, spoke in show partners (El Trece, Monday to Friday at 10:30) about his dramatic life change.
For several years, the representative was able to organize hundreds of fashion shows in Argentina and Uruguay, where he was one of the figures who stood out in the summers of Punta del Este. This was until 2011 when he ran into financial troubles and his reputed agency went bankrupt. Hence, Piñeiro’s life, in which he was immersed a deep depression which led him to fall into the alcoholismdid a 180 degree turn.
In 2022 Ricardo returned sporadically to the fashion world when he staged an exclusive fashion show at the Mexican Embassy. However, dAfter that event, he went back to low profile and stay away from the media.

“At one point I had a major depression, I had so many problems and the company had to be closed, it was very painful for me because I worked for 35 years”, Piñeiro recalled from the steps of the religious institute The handmaids of the Lordlocated in Recoleta.
Then he developed: “I didn’t feel very well, the truth I started drinking a little too much and when I realized that, I turned to Alcoholics Anonymous here. And the truth is, it saved my life. I’ve been coming every day for a long time and thank God I haven’t had alcohol for five years.”
“I was a volunteer in the soup kitchen for 3 years.in practice they are at the door to check, to see the numbers,” said the former entrepreneur, who assured that he was very involved in the cause.
And he continued: “The intention is for the homeless to re-enter society and have decent work. They sit down with the volunteers, who are wonderful, we serve them a plate of food each, they have a dessert to eat, we serve them water. You pray before you eat.

“I wouldn’t go back”Pineiro responded when asked if he would represent the models again.
Though he acknowledged that he had a great relationship with some of the women he worked with. Some of those on that list are Paola Chavez AND Mariana Arias.
“This is quite a special medium because in general there are many ungrateful girls”, he launched, although he clarified that he said it “without resentment”.
“Sometimes you see a girl, you say, ‘This can work.’ You start forming it… anything you like manager. AND then sometimes they get a little bigger and that’s not good”, he concluded.
