A healing book, yours
She said writing the book has been a surprisingly positive experience and that he doesn’t want his diagnosis to interfere with people’s enjoyment.
“I didn’t really intend to write a book, I needed something to do while in treatment; I’m used to going to work and suddenly I couldn’t go to work. That’s why I wrote the book and I must say that it has had a very good response.
“People seem to like it, which is great. Like any first-time author, I was obviously very nervous. Anyway, I think it’s fun. We subtitled it Movies, life, love and other catastrophes.
“So it gives you an insight into all the crazy things that have happened to me. The tone of the book is one of surprise. I never thought I would have an acting career., let alone as an on-screen actor. But that’s more or less what happened. And I’m filled with gratitude when I look back on this life, and that’s what the book is about.
Light in the dark
She said her book is not a cancer memoir, but that his illness forms a “spiral thread” throughout the narrative. Specifically, the doctors diagnosed it “a ferocious type of aggressive non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma”.

“I can’t pretend last year didn’t have its dark moments,” he said. “But those dark moments made me feel grateful for every day and immensely grateful for all my friends. just happy to be alive“, He added.
One of the things she misses the most is her hair. She says she lost it after the first round of chemotherapy and writes in her memoirs that when she looks in the mirror, “there’s a bald and wizened old man there.”
“More than anything, I want my beard back. I don’t like the way my face looks at all.” Indeed, at one point she thinks that the subtitle of the book could have been “Notes from a Dying Man”.
