Bad Bunny will be the protagonist of The deadthe new movie from the Marvel superhero universe, to be released in theaters in January 2024, Sony announced on Twitter.
This way, Bad Bunny will be the first Latino actor to star in a Marvel action movie, as there was a Latino Spiderman in the animated film. Spider-Man: A new universe (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, 2018).

The Puerto Rican singer made a brief appearance at CinemaCon, held in Las Vegas, to announce this new adaptation of a superhero from the Marvel factory.

Juan Carlos Estrada Sánchez is El Muerto in Marvel comics, a masked fighter whose strength is in that mask, inherited by his family for generations, the Marvel website specifies.
“The stimulation in El Muerto is incredible,” Sony Pictures president Sanford Panitch said at the film’s presentation, according to media expert Variety.
In some of the comic stories, El Muerto interacts with Spider-Man, where he joins a fight in which the Latino superhero is about to unmask Spider-Man.

But then Spider-Man and El Muerto team up to fight El Dorado, the villain who controls Juan Carlos ’power and is responsible for his father’s death.
Other Latin presence
Although he was the first Latino protagonist of Marvel cinema, the series is currently to be seen at Disney + Moon Knightstarring Guatemalan Oscar Isaac.

And there are other well -known Latinos who starred in Marvel movies, like Salma Hayek, who played Ajak, the first leader of Eternals (2021).
