Ica Novo, a well-known Cordovan folklorist, teacher and diffuser of popular rhythms, has died at the age of 70 in the capital of her province, her sister María Elena Novo confirmed via a message posted on social Facebook network.

“My heart was broken, after fighting it like a champion, my beloved sister Ica Novo left this world. My older brother, who taught me to listen to good music, made me a fan of Los Andariegos, of Los Nocheros de Anta., Among others, and introduced me to militancy in Peronism, “his sister wrote.

An emblematic chacarera

Guitarist, singer and composer, Ica Novo -born under the name of Ricardo Luis Novo- is also a scholar and advocate of folk music culture.
