Thirty years ago, in the middle of the album Love after love, Fito Páez filled in two Vélez. Now, with summoning power intact, repeat the feat in front of old fans and a new generation of followers.
This Saturday evening he gave the first of his two shows in Vélez, as part of the “30 years of love after love” tour, celebrating not only the anniversary but also the impressive validity of that album full of hits. Indeed, last year it filled eight Movistar Arenaswhich led to the decision to face a Vélez which then were two, given the great response from the public.
The album Love after love It went on sale June 1, 1992, sold 30,000 copies in two days and another 20,000 in one week. By the end of that year, it had sold 175,000 units and went quadruple platinum in mid-1993. It is the best-selling record in the history of the Argentine recording industry.
The repertoire of that emblematic and successful work with 14 pieces included Two Days in the Life, Petal of Salt, One Dress and One Love, Graves of Glory, The Magic Wheel, Behind the Wailing Wall, Brilliant on the Mic AND to roll my life.
Indeed, in the shows of the tour, Fito played the whole album and in the original song order, and then concluded with a handful of old-time hits.
The public who came to Vélez appreciated his repertoire, as well as the presence of several special guests, both from the new generation and also some original guests from the album, where they recorded Charly García, Andrés Calamaro, Mercedes Sosa, Luis Alberto Spinetta . , David Lebón, Liliana Herrero, Fabiana Cantilo, Celeste Carballo and Ariel Rot, among others.
Tonight, however, the first trailer of the biographical series was also released on the screens of the stadium Love after lovebased on the life of Fito, which will arrive on the Netflix platform on April 26.
