The relationship of Joan Manuel Serrat along the American continent is long and intense. Started with mutual crush 52 years ago on a tour, he went on a year of cohabitation when he was forced into exile and has remained until now, the eve of the long farewell that will begin this Wednesday (27) at New York and will continue in eight countries in Latin America.

In New York, he returned to Beacon (the beautiful theater where the Stones or Bob Dylan usually play), where he sold all the seats three years ago, to an audience mainly from Latin American communitieswho did not stop applauding him for more than two hours.
No one could have imagined at that time what was to come in the world: a pandemic that drowned out Serrat’s singing and his tours and convinced him it was best to say goodbye.

Not surprisingly, then, that includes the tour that begins five concerts in Mexicotwo in Mexico City and another three in Puebla, Guadalajara and Monterrey, and before passing through Miami (USA), San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Santo Domingo, and later to Colombia, where tickets were sold out both in Bogotá and Medellín, as well as Costa Rica, Chile, and Uruguay Argentina, with -so far- four dates in Buenos Aires.

If his heart can withstand so many emotions, Serrat will tour Spain and go to his hometown, Barcelona, with two concerts where it is hard to hold back tears, even if the actor promises to give a lot joy and fight to “People don’t lose the smile on their faces”.
