“Set in Nicaragua in 1984, the story of passion, fear and betrayal tells the voice of an American woman whose mission in Central America is as dark as her surroundings,” says the official synopsis. With this background, the story that adapts the homonymous book by Denis Johnsonwill show a mysterious English businessman and a headstrong American journalist living a torrid romance.
The list also has Nick Romano (“The Suicide Squad”) and Danny Ramirez (“Falcon and the Winter Soldier”). The actor Robert Pattinson would participate in the feature, but left the project due to scheduling conflicts. Claire Denis still shares the role of screenwriter for the feature with Andrew Litvack and Lea Mysius.
The release date for “The Stars at Noon” has yet to be announced.
