Universal Pictures released this Tuesday (26) the new trailer for “The Black Phone”, a horror starring Ethan Hawke (“Moon Knight”).
The preview shows the actor as a masked kidnapper who plays young Finney (Mason Thames) your victim. Wanted by his sister and the police, the boy will need to get rid of the criminal with the help of a black phone that seems to grant him supernatural gifts.
Following its synopsis, terror accompanies Finney Shaw (Mason Thames), “a shy and smart 13 year old boy, kidnapped by a sadistic killer (Hawke). The boy is trapped in a soundproof basement, where screaming won’t help him, and the only thing in the dark room is a phone. black unplugged from the wall, but when the phone rings, Finney discovers he can hear the voices of his kidnapper’s previous victims.”
Inspired by the tale of Joe Hill“Ghosts of the Twentieth Century”, the film is directed by Scott Derricksonwho co-wrote the screenplay alongside C. Robert Cargill based on the tale of Joe Hill.
This is the duo’s first collaboration since “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” a project they abandoned after creative disagreements with Marvel.
The film is scheduled to open in Brazilian cinemas on June 23.
