Since Jorge Lanata received a kidney transplant in March 2015, De Brito has asked him to speak to Silvina Luna, who in the previous day’s interview had seen her very distressed about her health problems.

“I saw a part of the ticket- began Lanata-. Silvina is on dialysis. I have been on dialysis for 4 years, three times a week“.

Without turning around, Lanata warned: “She said she gets tired and sometimes doesn’t want to go to dialysis. But you have to go on dialysis. If you let two or three days go by, you could die.“.

“Many people give up on dialysis. Dialysis usually doesn’t do anything physically bad to you. But people give up emotionally. While I was on dialysis, I continued to work. I was coming off dialysis and walking. And the next day, I went to the radio to work. I didn’t want the treatment to cut off my life.”

“When you go on a trip, yes, you need to see where to get dialysis in the country you’re in,” she said.

“And what is life like after the transplant?De Brito asked him: “If you take care of yourself, you continue to live normally. I live normally,” replied Lanata.

the driver of PPT (El Trece) recalled that his case was the first cross-transplant between four people performed in Latin America.

The operation, performed at the Favaloro Foundation, subject to judicial authorisation, involved a 50-year-old woman, mother of a 20-year-old boy in need of a transplant, who donated her kidney to Lanata, with whom she was compatible while Sara Stewart Brown, the journalist’s then wife and mother of his youngest daughter Lola, gave hers to the young man she was more compatible with than her own mother.

When asked if he had any moments of great discomfort throughout this process, Lanata was forthright: “I have never been depressed, but the experience has been very strong. I didn’t have any connection nor did I have it afterwards with that woman that I only saw for 10 minutes, but I live with an organ of her.”

Referring to Silvina Luna, Jorge Lanata said: “He has to fight, he has no choice”.

Because Lanata won’t see the series that Star + will make about her life

In another order of things, Jorge Lanata vHe confirmed that the streaming platform Star + is preparing a drama series about part of his life: from childhood to the founding of Página/12, in 1987.

“I think they’ll start shooting before the end of the year,” he said, while admitting he had no idea who the actors were going to be playing.

After declaring that he did not participate in writing the script of the series, Jorge Lanata went further and surprised everyone: “I don’t want to see her“, he has declared.

Explaining the reasons for this decision, he was honest: “I’ve had a difficult life. Although I found out when I was growing up (just before having the transplant) that I was adopted, my mother had cancer as a child and spent 40 years on a chair without being able to speak. I don’t want to see him in the series, no matter how best an actress plays him“.

Lanata: “I’m sure Milei will be the most voted candidate at PASO”

As expected, in the interview with Jorge Lanata in THEY there was also a segment dedicated to politics. They started by asking him about the announcement of Cristina Kirchner that he will not run for election this year.

“People who follow her have been very responsive to her announcement: they want her to appear. She doesn’t want to show up because she doesn’t want to lose and because she doesn’t know how her lawsuit will continue. He is fighting history more than rivals. The worst thing he hears is the question of condemnation, because it tarnishes the character that was invented. That character cannot be condemned.”

Lanata also specified that Cristina Kirchner “has no candidates” in the elections. “You couldn’t generate a legacy,” she opined.
