It was officially announced that the famous actor Benedict Cumberbatchknown worldwide for his character Doctor Strange in the saga of avengers of Marvel, will play the folk singer Pete Seeger in the upcoming biopic of Bob Dylancall Completely unknown (completely unknown).

The news was confirmed after a screening of director James Mangold’s latest film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinyat the Cannes Film Festival. Mangold also mentioned that Elle Fanning will star in the film.

Who was Pete Seeger?

Seeger, who died in 2014, had a significant impact on Dylan’s music education, profoundly influencing him both musically and activism.

In turn, Seeger was an early artistic sponsor of Dylan, helping to secure his debut album deal with Columbia Records. He also invited Dylan to play at the Newport Folk Festival, where Seeger was a board member.
