The place chosen for the Argentinian premiere of The Little Mermaid was the cinema in the Dot Baires shopping centre. There he was armed a scenario set in the depths of the oceanwhich emulated the mood of the film.
A meeting that saw the participation of Martin Churba, textile designer and fashion creative, who surprised everyone with a Masterclass inspired by the story of the most famous mermaid in the world.
Moreover, they were present Maru Botana, Dalma Maradona, Mery Del Cerro, Belu Lucius, among other celebrities. All accompanied by their children, who were moved reversal of the Disney animated classic that crosses generations with a message of self-discovery and, above all, the importance of listening and following one’s desires
A masterclass with a conscience
“During the quarantine I did some live ones in which, using the materials that were at home, the ones that we threw away, I made entertainment experiences with that,” says Martín Churba about the experience he has prepared for the event.
The fashion designer and creative began his education in performing arts and graphic design but discovered his passion for textiles in the 1990s when he founded the company TrosmanChurba.
In 2002, Tramando began to take shape, a company that combines textile research with strategic design development. Currently, its collections are presented in theatrical performances and its products are exported to various countries, with Japan as the main recipient.
In the “masterclass” adults and children were able to get to work creating their own works inspired by coral reefs, the habitat of the protagonist. With materials such as cardboard, films, markers and more that accompanied the designer’s sustainable proposal.
As for the relationship with the film, Martín Churba said so “The Little Mermaid is a researcher and a resigner of human objects. When Disney approached me with the proposition, I didn’t hesitate for a second, because I felt this transformation with what I do made a lot of sense.”
A classic that transcends generations
-Mom, how long until the beginning?, one of the many girls present at the event asks her mother, who, judging by her appearance, seems to be the real fan.
“I came to see the animated film with my mother and now bringing my daughter here is very exciting. we both love it. Ariel is everything,” that excited mother says as her daughter walks around the place.

Since its premiere, it has captivated hearts with its own fascinating story of love, courage and self-discovery.
