A24’s feature film stars Jessie Buckley, an Oscar-nominated actress
A24 released this Thursday (28) – via Entertainment Weekly – new images of “Men”, the filmmaker’s new film Alex Garlandwhich will star Jessie Buckleyfrom “The Lost Daughter”.
The director even compared his new work to his previous films: “Ex_Machina: Artificial Instinct” and “Annihilation”. “In my mind, a movie like ‘Men’ is connected to ‘Annihilation’“, he said garland the magazine.
“They [os filmes] are very much about how you are feeling about something. ‘Men’ is a visceral level film. I’m proud of ‘Ex_Machina’, I really love it, but it’s an intellectual film. ‘Men’ is not, I think.“, said the director.
The horror plot tells the story of harper, a woman who goes on holiday alone in the English countryside after the death of her ex-husband. She hopes to find a calm and peaceful place to deal with grief. But someone or something in the surrounding forest seems to be chasing her. What starts out as seething dread becomes a fully formed nightmare, inhabited by your darkest memories and fears.
Besides Buckleythe list consists of Rory Kinnear (“007 – No Time to Die”) and Paapa Essiedu (“I May Destroy You”).
“Men” premieres on May 20 in the United States and has not yet received a release date to reach Brazilian theaters. Watch the trailer:
