At the request of the presenter Marcela Tinayre, in controversy at the bar (America, 11:15 pm), Marcelo Polino provided updated information on the health situation of Antonio Gasalla. “He’s not in a nursing home. He’s hospitalized and has advanced dementia”specified the journalist, who is a great friend of the actor.
Polino began by denying the versions according to which Antonio Gasalla would have been transferred to a retirement home. “He is hospitalized in a clinic where they are compensating him, doing tests and trying to make him gain weight,” he said. And he added: “They put a button on his stomach because he had trouble swallowing. She’s accepted it well and now they’re seeing how she evolves.”

“The whole process was very quick, wasn’t it?” wanted to know Marcela Tinayre. And Polino replied that “it all started in 2019, when we abruptly stopped the season we were doing in Mar del Plata”.
Flavio Mendoza then specified that he had already warned earlier that something was wrong in the mental health of Antonio Gasalla with whom he was preparing a show that would be entitled “Antonio y Flavio”.
“I mean Marcelo (Polino) took great care of Antonio and people don’t know it“, Flavio began to point out.
And added: “When I started working with him, Antonio was already having terrible trouble remembering. We talked about something and the next day he couldn’t remember.”
“This was before the pandemic and I warned someone close to him that he was having trouble remembering, but they treated me like crazy. I always spoke to Antonio’s assistants, never a family member,” Mendoza said.
Marcelo Polino: “Antonio was tired from everything”
“In the 2019 season, in Mar del Plata, at one point, he had to introduce me on stage and he no longer remembered my name. So, I warned the family. They took him to the doctor. But Antonio, with the character that we all know, he didn’t want to go…”.
To illustrate what the situation was like, Polino said: “At one point we took him to the Rossi Institute for a study and he yanked the cables out of his head and went down the corridor in his underwear.”
Marcelo Polino recalled that after the pandemic, Antonio Gasalla summoned him to his home and offered to bring a notary to give him one of his two apartments.
“I got scared, called the family and told them, ‘Look, as he offers it to me, he will offer it to any opportunist that he will keep the goods he has earned with his work'”.
“It was then, when the family went to a judge and expedited this process to set up a guardianship,” Marcelo added.
In turn, he specified that Gasalla has a lack of money which, it is estimated, could reach 500,000 dollars because “they broke into the two safety deposit boxes that were in his house”. “Now there’s an investigation to find out what happened, because Antonio Gasalla was harassed by everything,” lamented Marcelo Polino.
