In 2014, Claudia Albertario (46) packed her bags and left with her husband and daughter, headed to Miami, United States.
Dante, her second son with businessman Jerónimo Valdivia, was born there and continued her acting career. In the meantime, she has visited Argentina intermittently and taken part in various projects, such as the reality show The challenge (Telefe, 2023).
However, in the last year Albertario’s life has taken a turn.
He separated after more than 14 years and, almost simultaneously, began pursuing his other passion: real estate.
Claudia, in addition to her personal account, has an Instagram account in which she talks about her new role as real estate (real estate agent) and shares videos showcasing the incredible homes, mansions and luxury condos for sale in Miami.
In dialogue with ClarionAlbertario how this life change happened.
-How did you get into the real estate world?
-Sales is in my blood a bit because my father was a salesman and an actor in life. So I’ve always been very interested in creating my own businesses, both in Argentina and in Miami. In Argentina I had already purchased some pre-construction apartments. And when I got here I started to deal with some auctions, for some properties that were being auctioned off. I did it through a friend of my ex-husband, who taught me. I researched a little more and said “I would like to start selling” and started studying to get my license.
-How was it?
-Here you need a license to sell apartments and houses. You study, you pass the course and then the state exam, which is quite difficult, there are 100 questions. And this is all. To do this you need to have a license from a company, mine is there Fortune Christie’s International Realty, which is one of the largest in South Florida. The owner, whose name is Edgardo Defortuna, is from Córdoba, has lived in Miami since the 80s and is the number 1 company in Real estate from here. I’m also with Bruno Ricci, who is my mentor. And I got involved, advancing and growing in this…
-What to say Real estate Would you like it to become your main profession or to do it alongside acting?
-It will be parallel, although it is gaining a lot of importance because there are many people who want to invest in Miami and are looking for me. They consult me a lot on Instagram, I have a lot of movement. But I continue with the theater. I’m doing Under therapy, which was produced in Argentina. She plays a very interesting character because she is a woman abused by her husband. Within the play she is a very dramatic character. She is one of the cutest characters she has ever played.
-What do customers ask you most?
-Apartments, we have many in pre-construction. We have more than 25 new projects, these are large towers between 60 and 85 floors that are located near the neighborhood where Argentines live. That area will explode. There are still affordable properties but in five years the whole area will change a bit.
-On Instagram you show incredible homes….
-Yes. You have to have a lot of money but I also deal with cheaper things. There is everything, there are affordable apartments for those who perhaps have 300,000 or 400,000 dollars saved and want to invest it or have an extra and want to buy an apartment to come and go or that generates a return.
-Do you happen to see an increase in consultations with the crisis in Argentina?
-Beyond the crisis or non-crisis of our country, there is a lot of movement of people who want to come and buy here for everything that is coming, the Copa América, the World Cup… I just published the top 10 the countries that buy the most in Miami, the first is Colombia and the second is Argentina. In other words, there are still many people who seem to have saved, perhaps all their lives, or who have dollar businesses there and it is still convenient for them, perhaps today, to buy something here and have an income or who want to have an apartment for come and go. There are many Argentines who have apartments here in Miami, thousands and thousands of people and this is not just now. It happens that now there is a big furor with Miami, everyone wants to come here.
-Have celebrities contacted you or shopped you?
-Yes, but I won’t say the names. I have many famous Argentinians who contact me to buy here.
-Does this professional change have anything to do with your separation?
-NO. It just happened that I started doing it when I broke up, but it has nothing to do with that. It was gradual and incorporating a little more because knowing never hurts, wisdom always pays off. There are many rules that I had to study, like everything obviously, but it never hurts to cultivate a little and learn. It has to do with something I’ve always enjoyed doing.
-How do you organize yourself on a daily basis with your children, the theater and your new profession?
-The theater is on weekends, Saturday and Sunday. My children sometimes come with me, although they usually stay with their dad. And during the week I manage myself well, I coordinate school timetables. Fortunately, the father is very dedicated to his children and we are here for a week and a week, so the week I am without my children I have a little more time and schedule. Then, when I’m with them, I take advantage of school hours and then finish the working day, like three in the afternoon, four at the latest. Here, however, with this job, it’s not like you have to stick to timetables.

-Do you also show the properties to customers?
-Yes, we are a team. Sometimes I go, sometimes someone else goes, but I like to take care of myself.
-It’s been 10 years since you left… Why did you leave?
-In February he was 10 years old. Simona (her eldest daughter) was 4 years old, we started seeing Jerónimo again, we had a separation and we returned. At that point she told me to come and live here so that Simona is bilingual, she grows up in a safe place, the public schools are 10/10. So Simona would have learned a language by living it, being here every day and it’s fantastic. He also grew up here, with his sister when they were little, they always attended an American school. That was the main task more than anything… And then, well, I remember the dollar was at eight or nine and Jero said to me, “It’s going to go up to 17. At the end of the year the dollar will go to 17, 18, remember. Let’s get out of here!” I told him “you’re crazy”.
-And did he convince you?
-The decision wasn’t so easy. I spent about two, three months in therapy. We did both to see how it would turn out and what it would do. I used to work in Telefe, in Gentlemen Dads, I had done an episode with Joaquín Furriel, they wanted me to continue my character and they offered me the contract. I was in the theater and I had done it celebrity dive with Marley, which was the last thing I did before we arrived.
-How are your artistic projects progressing now?
-Now they have also proposed something nice about the guide which I can’t say what it is because it hasn’t been closed yet. It is a design from Argentina and is made here in the United States. They always call me for projects and I am very grateful that my country still considers me for work.
