Danny Boyle’s miniseries addresses the UK punk movement created by the group
FX released last Tuesday (3), the first official trailer for “Pistol”, a miniseries of Danny Boyle (“Trainspotting – No Limits”) about the British band sex pistols. The production will delve into the punk movement created by the British group in the UK in the 1970s, as well as the influence they had on other musicians belonging to rock and alternative rock.
Beside Boylethe series was created and written by Craig Pearce (“Moulin Rouge! – Love in Red”), based on Jones’ 2017 memoir, “Lonely Boy: Tales From a Sex Pistol”. Watch the first full trailer for “Pistol”:
The project tells the story of a group of messy, “futureless” working-class kids who completely rocked the drab and corrupt institution, threatened to overthrow the government, and changed music and culture forever.
“Pistol” is a six-episode miniseries, produced by FX Productions, about a rock’n’roll revolution. The intense and furious storm at the center of this revolution is the sex pistolswith the band’s founding member and guitarist, Steve Jonesas the protagonist of the series.
The funny, emotional, and sometimes heartbreaking journey of Jones guides the audience through a kaleidoscopic account of the three most epic, chaotic and arduous years in music history.

The series will be shown in the United States on Hulu, and enters the catalog on May 31. In Brazil, “Pistol” will be broadcast via Star+, but still has no set date.
