The founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezosgranted this Friday to the actress Eva Longoria and retired Navy Admiral William McRaven 50 million dollars to each person so that they can allocate them to charities that they themselves decide.
The award is part of the annual “Courage and Citizenship” award that Bezos has been awarding since 2021 to people he believes can make a significant contribution to society.

Longoria has advocated for Latino communities in the United States and in 2012 created a foundation that bears his name with the aim of offering school and corporate training programsl for the girls of these communities.

For his part, retired Navy Admiral William McRaven advised former U.S. Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama on defense matters, while also providing support to veterans and children of fallen soldiers.
McRaven told the same media that he will distribute the money between two initiatives, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the BrainHealth Project, which respectively support the families of service members who have died and provide mental health resources to veterans.
