The sequel hits theaters nationwide on June 2
Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) revealed to Today Show (via CBR) that “Jurassic World: Dominion” will be the last of the franchise, which began with the original trilogy released in 1993. In addition, the star told more about the production and its ending “explosive”.
“You know when you go to a fireworks display like the 4th of July or New Year’s, there’s always the ending? You’re waiting for it, and then boom! And you’re like, ‘Oh! the ending!’ I feel like the whole movie is that. It’s… 30 years in the making, it’s the sixth ‘Jurassic Park’ movie, it’s the end of this franchise.”clarified Pratt.
“I really think it’s the end”continued. “You’ve got the legacy cast back – Sam Neil, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, plus the Jurassic World cast, all converging in a way that’s very much an ending.”went on to explain.
Finally, Pratt recaps the union of the trio of veterans in the sixth film in the franchise, something that hasn’t happened in a long time. “The first time I saw Jurassic Park I was thirteen. I had no idea I was going to be an actor. […] If you had told me that I would be doing this, there’s no way I would have believed it. And these people were cemented in my mind as icons, working with them is a dream come true.”he concluded.
“Jurassic World: Dominion” continues after the events of 2018’s “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”, which saw the destruction of the dinosaur home, Isla Nublar, causing several animals to escape to the mainland at the end of the film. Some manage to coexist peacefully in society, however, others bring problems. The former employees of the dinosaur park must seek a solution, enlisting the help of experienced dinosaur scientists, who return from the original trilogy.
Bryce Dallas Howard (“Black Mirror”) joins the side of Chris Prattreprising the character Claire. Mamoudou Athie (“File 81”) and DeWanda Wise (“Somebody Special”) complete the cast of the last feature.
Colin Trevorrow, responsible for “Jurassic World”, returns to direct the project. “Jurassic World: Dominion” hits theaters on June 2.
