Louis De Santis, the creator of the clown Bim, died at the age of 95

Quebec comedian Louis De Santis, who dramatically created the clown character Bim for the youth program The surprise boxin the 1950s, died at age 95.

He died in Montreal on April 26, peacefully surrounded by his family.

Its most famous character, Bim, was first part of the clown duo Bim and Nok, the latter played by the great actor Jean-Louis Millette, before the latter was replaced by Sol, Marc’s unforgettable clown Favreau. Their collaboration on television lasted several years, which the toddlers enjoyed.

Louis De Santis also introduced himself to the theater, and participated in the creation of plays by Félix Leclerc such as The little happiness.

He has a long career in television, as part of the cast of such shows The Little Homeland, human land at Time of peace.

The actor also taught theater for a long time at Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe.
