Russia’s ambassador to Poland was spray-painted with red substance on Monday and attacked by pro-Ukrainian demonstrators in Warsaw on the occasion of the anniversary of the end of World War II, an incident that Moscow immediately denounced.
According to an AFP photographer present at the scene, pro-Ukrainian activists, were singing fascists and singing the Ukrainian national flag, blocked the ambassador’s passage when he laid a wreath in the cemetery in Warsaw where Soviet soldiers who died during World War II are buried.
On May 9, 1945, the Russians marked the victory against Nazi Germany.
Then, some people threw red substance on his face and clothes, and also spat around him.
After wiping his face with his hand, Sergei Andreev said: I am proud of my country and my president.
Mr Andreev told Russian news agency RIA Novosti that he was not seriously injured in the attack, adding that the red substance was a kind of syrup.
The incident was immediately denounced by Moscow.
Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy, indicated that Supporters of neo-Nazism showed their face again, and it was bloody.
Moscow also addresses a strong protest to the Polish authorities because of their indulgence to neo-Nazi children.
Russia, which continues to be attacked russophobia Westerners in general, and Poland in particular, have also asked to be able to organize the ceremony of placing the wreath without delay, ensuring its complete security in the face of all kinds of provocation.
The Russian Embassy planned to hold an official ceremony at the site, but it was canceled after a negative response from the Mayor of Warsaw and the Foreign Ministry.
Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski said after the incident that Polish authorities do not recommend the Russian ambassador to lay flowers on May 9 in Warsaw.
Police allowed the ambassador to leave safelyHe added.
Mr Kaminski also tweeted that activists had legally gathered there to protest against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, where the crime of genocide takes place every day.
The sentiment of Ukrainian women-who took part in the protest and whose husbands bravely fought to defend their homeland-is evident.He added.
