The 21 residents of the Le Pentagone housing cooperative in Chicoutimi-Nord, which were devastated by the fire on Saturday morning, will have a new suitable home quickly, Minister Andrée Laforest promised.
The Municipal Housing Office (OMH
) of Saguenay had to contact seven families on Monday to offer them housing.Quebec’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing and Minister responsible for the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, Andrée Laforest, gave the assurance.
“Sure we will talk to families about whether housing is right for them, but I think. For insurance, work continues on Desjardins. We will continue to work together, this is important. I say to families: “you can be sure. We are here, we have found accommodation for you. Take good care of your children, we will do the rest”, declared one who is also a representative of Chicoutimi.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire, which may be of criminal origin.
