That’s not the Marilyn Monroe dress kim kardashian Worn at the last Met gala, but some of the clothes the actress wore in her most memorable films will soon be auctioned along with another 1,400 pieces of Hollywood history.
For three days in July, Turner Classic Movies and Julien’s Auctions will come together at auction of props used in classic movies and those are certainly treasures for collectors.
Some of the most coveted pieces were the clothes Marilyn wore Gentlemen prefer blondes (1953) at foot lights (1954), nominated for three Oscars, one of them for best costume.

On that wish list are the weapons of two Marvel superheroes: The Shield of Captain America from the 2011 movie, the first avenger; and the hammer used by Chris Hemsworth in the sequel Thor, a dark worldof 2013.
They were accompanied by a Givenchy two-piece set worn by Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany’s; or the wallet used by Jules Winnfield (Samuel Jackson) in pulp fictionsaid the organizations on Tuesday.
Pieces of Star Wars and Harry Potter
One of six original Stormtrooper helmets from the first starwars (1977) was part of the auction. The helmet was worn during filming in Tunisia and was later restored by franchise expert Gino Sabatino.

There will also be various props to be used in various Harry Potter films, such as Draco Malfoy’s “Nimbus 2001” broom and Voldemort’s elder wand.
There will be special collections from the estates of James Garner, Robert Stack and Doris Day, as well as annotated scripts from legendary editor Anne V. Coates, including an unseen look at her making decision that led to the film’s Oscar. Lawrence of Arabiaby David Lean.
Coates’ other items will also be sold to the highest bidder, including scripts he wrote for two of his other acclaimed films: The elephant man Y a dangerous passion.
“Our fans are seeking a tangible connection to their passion and now they can fulfill this desire with these iconic costumes and one-of-a-kind memorabilia from the films we screen in TCM, ”said TCM General Manager Pola Changnon.
Getty’s yacht and jewelry worn by divas
One of the most important lots is the yacht formerly owned by businessman Jean Paul Getty and used in outdoor scenes from the film. Pal Joeystarring Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth and Kim Novak.

A variety of jewelry pieces designed by the Joseff of Hollywood firm and used by Monroe and Hayworth themselves, along with Judy Garland, Olivia de Havilland and Barbara Stanwyck, will also be on sale.
