A 31-year-old man died on Highway 11 in New Brunswick on Monday night following a collision with a transport truck. At the time of the accident, the Allardville man was driving a car he had stolen.
Around 11:10 pm, police from the Chaleur region detachment RCMP
received a report of a vehicle rolling on Highway 11, near exit 300.The driver of the second vehicle that passed by would have stopped to offer assistance to the driver of the car that just rolled over.
The man driving the first vehicle stole the car from a passerby who rescued him, according to the RCMP, and then drove north on Highway 11.
The stolen vehicle allegedly crossed the center line and collided with a truck heading south.
The man from Allardville died of his injuries at the scene.
The truck driver was not injured.
A collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation, says RCMP
.An autopsy is also scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
