The Eve created by Sol Bonelli he comes to say all that he has silenced during millennia of forced silence. furious evethe author and director’s new play, will arrive this Thursday at El Extranjero, hosted by Olave Mendoza.
“Eve was silenced from day 2 of creation, when she was cast into Paradise. Now, I want her to give her version of that origin, but also her perspective on the apocalyptic present,” Bonelli said.
The biblical character is at the beginning of everything, including Adam, although he is associated with the responsibility of expulsion from Eden. Now he is complaining about what has been done since then. “Obviously, when seeing the results, Humanity failed and destroyed itself,” Sol said. “And Eve, from this plastic Eden, complained about what wasn’t done or done wrong.”

During the creative process of this new work, Sol has an inspiring muse, Tita Merello. “He was my soundtrack.” But also, planted today, “This Eva saw everything and is capable of linking Tita with Tini Stoessel. She is lunfarda although with certain licenses,” she says.
The origin of this work and its empowered protagonist appear casual. After completing a diploma, in 2019, where one of the instructions was to write only sharp words, Bonelli compiled a first text in which Jesus, Satan, Mary Magdalene and Eve, along with other characters that also match. in a neighborhood tone.
“With the emergence of the pandemic, from the collective of authors we set up reading clubs and there they were reborn, driven by the apocalyptic sensation of the moment, the desire to make a monologue, with some humor, about this material. But now, that roles have changed and focused on Eva, “he said.
Eve was alone
In this presentation, Eve is alone; of Adam no news. “In that space, he’s back to the foundation moment and, at the same time, he’s in the present and has a lot to say,” he said. “Eva shows that women who make decisions are dangerous for the patriarchal culture and the system that oppresses them. Therefore, they should be silenced, and they should only give the children to the father.”
According to Bonelli, Eva’s story is pathetic wherever you look at it, which is also related to her motherhood. “She was to blame for everything and as the mother of mankind even her sons, Cain and Abel, committed suicide to rectify it with God. But we have not heard her opinion on all that.”

Facing this model, and in the midst of a collapsed world, also from an environmental perspective, Eva described what had failed and wondered if it was possible for another Humanity to also lay the foundations for a new world, adding all other creatures on the planet ..
“I believe in the magic of words and this Eva was born from the playful place, so there is also musical in the language and in her public speaking”, Bonelli describes. “He questions the rules imposed on him from the beginning and the verticality of the supposed right or wrong, which goes hand in hand with the patriarchal.”
Consistent with this current on the brink of climate and environmental collapse, both the garments and the landscape of furious eve they also realize that. And everything was made with plastic waste that, like Eva’s story, resigned on stage. “The intention is to overthrow everything,” Sol said, “to ask ourselves a lot of questions and listen to the voices that are silenced.”
