Swedish series depicts romance between a prince and a commoner

The teen series tells the story of the prince Wilhelm (Ryding), second in line to the throne, having to study at a high society boarding school after getting into some troubles that damaged the image of royalty. Upon arriving at Hillerska, he is introduced to Simon (Omar Rudberg), one of the students and members of the school’s choir, and their friendship grows deeper, but several barriers prevent them from being together.
The first season of the series has six episodes of 40 minutes each, written by Lisa Ambjorn, Sofia Forsman and Tove Forsmanand with the direction of Rojda Sekersöz and Erika Calmeyer.
All episodes of “Young Royals” are available on Netflix. The platform confirmed that the second season will be released in the streaming catalog in 2022.
