Production will present “updated” version of the masked hero
Miguel Bernardeaubest known for interpreting Guzman in the series “Elite”, was cast to interpret the zorro in the new Prime Video series focused on the masked hero.
According to information from Variety, Bernardeau will play opposite Renata Notni (“A Vengeance of the Juanas”) in production. The Mexican actress joined the cast to play Lolita Marquez, the protagonist’s love interest.
The actor will play a new version of Diego de la Vegas, a landowner who acts as the people’s masked hero. The series will show an “updated” version of the legendary figure, as “a symbol of justice and defender of the oppressed”.
Amazon Studios has hired Javier Quintas and Miguel Angel Vivas to direct the 10 episodes of the series, which will be based on a script signed by Carlos Portela.
The new Zorro series will be released in Latin America, Spain and the United States via Prime Video. The premiere date has not yet been announced by streaming.
