Long starring Ana de Armas arrives on Netflix later this year
Since it was announced, “Blonde”, a biopic of Marilyn Monroe, has given much to talk about. And in a recent interview with Vulturethe director Andrew Dominik (“The Man of the Mafia”) commented on the sensitive topics that will be covered in the production and probably will not please many people.
“If [o filme] Had it come out a few years ago, it probably would have come out at the height of the #MeToo movement and would have been an expression of all those things.”it started. “We’re at a point now, I think, where people are uncertain about where the boundaries are. It’s a movie that definitely has morality about it. But it swims in very ambiguous waters, because I don’t know if it will be as dry as people want. There’s something about him to offend everyone.”explained Dominik.
The work starring Ana de Armas (“Deep Waters”) is based on the book of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. She said she saw a cut and called the film “amazing, brilliant” and “very disturbing”. Saying it’s “a totally feminist interpretation”.
Dominik stated that the filming of “Blonde” was finished in July 2021 and the delay in the release is due to the editing. “I think I could have gone to Venice last year. It could have come out in last year’s fall crop, but… it took a while to deliver the final cut. All my movies take a while to put together”.
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for “Blonde,” but the title has been included in its official 2022 movie slate announcement.
