Project should be inspired by films from the 80s, such as “The Goonies”
After abandoning the direction of the Fantastic Four film, the director Jon Watts (“Spider-Man No Return Home”) already has a new project on its way: a series from the Star Wars universe.
According to Vanity Fair (via ComicBook), the project will not connect to other stories in the franchise and takes the temporary title of “Grammar Rodeo”, the idea being that the premise is inspired by the Amblin films of the 1980s, such as “The Goonies”.
The plot revolves around four pre-teens growing up after the fall of the Empire seen after the events of “Return of the Jedi”.
The series will take a lighter approach than “The Mandalorian” and plot details have not been released. The production is looking for children between the ages of 11 and 12 for the cast.
The next Star Wars project will be the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series that debuts May 27 on Disney+.
