New series for Disney+ will have Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke in the cast
“Secret Invasion” is the new series from Marvel Studios, and it should show a new facet of Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with EW, Samuel L. Jackson stated that the production gave him space to explore new sides of the character.
“There are some things I didn’t even know about Nick Fury that are being revealed right now. The minds behind conceiving everything that happened during the ‘blip’ [período entre ‘Vingadores: Guerra Infinita’ e ‘Ultimato’] are amazing. And that’s part of what we’re doing on this show.” explained.
According to the star, the series focused on one of Marvel’s most famous arcs in comics goes “beyond the ‘f*ck’ aspect of Nick Fury”: “I had fun doing this, digging deeper into this character, and I’m looking forward to people sharing that feeling with me.”
In addition to the star, the cast of “Secret Invasion” will have the return of Ben Mendelsohn (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) as stalks; Cobie Smulders (“How I Met Your Mother”) as Maria Hill; and Don Cheadle (“Space Jam: A New Legacy”) back in the role of War machine. To complete the team, Marvel recruited three strong names: Olivia Colman (“The Crown”), Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”) and Kingsley Ben-Adir (“A Night in Miami”).
“Secret Invasion” will adapt the comic book arc that shows the infiltration of the Skrulls, a group of aliens with the ability to change shape, on planet Earth. The focus of the plot is the relationship between Nick Fury it’s the Skrull Taloswho met during the events of “Captain Marvel” and went on to work together.
The series has yet to receive a release date on Disney+.
