Paul David Hewson, known worldwide as Bono, singer of U2, has officially announced that will publish an autobiography call Surrenderon November 3, 2022 by Reservoir Books.

Sa Surrender, Bono will tell for the first time and in the first person the details of his life and the people he met. It was a journey from his childhood in Dublin, through the sudden death of his mother when he was 14 years old and the amazing path he traveled with U2 to become one of the most important rock groups on the planet, in addition in his work as an activist, fighting AIDS and extreme poverty.

A structure of 40 chapters

The subtitle of Surrender this is 40 songs, one storywhich refers to the structure, where each chapter is titled the name of a U2 song and a drawing made by himself.

Furthermore, Today an animated video has been published on U2’s digital platforms based on some of his drawings and narrated by Bono himself. The video shows a fragment of the chapter Inevitable from Surrenderwhere he explained how he wrote U2’s first single on May 10, 1978, his eighteenth birthday.

In Bono’s own words: “When I started writing this book, I wanted to go into detail about some of the issues I had just outlined, in songs. The people, places and all the possibilities that life has presented to me ”

And he continued: “Surrender (surrender, surrender) is a term full of meaning for me. Since growing up in the 1970s in Ireland with your fists sticking out, this isn’t the first concept that comes to mind. This is a word I thought of when I started thinking about the book. I continue to struggle with him, with this requirement being perhaps the most capable of reminding you of your humble place. On the hand, in my marriage, in my faith, in my life as an activist. “

He ended his brief preview by saying: “Surrender This is the story of a pilgrim who does not progress … but has enough fun along the way. ”

U2 and the war

On Sunday, May 8, Bono gave a surprise concert with The Edge at a kyiv metro station, where he praised Ukraine’s fight for “freedom” and called for peace to come immediately after Russia’s invasion.

From the platform of a metro station in the Ukrainian capital, the 61-year-old musician, along with his partner, sang some of the group’s classics, such as Bloody Sunday, Lust either Whether you are with it or not.

“The people of Ukraine are not only fighting for their own freedom, they are fighting for all of us who love freedom,” said the singer, who arrived in kyiv just a month after releasing his song. Walk in Ukraine dedicated to the Ukrainian victims of the Russian aggression.

The performance of Bono and The Edge turned out to be a surprise, without prior notice, and within the singer’s activities for humanitarian purposes in various parts of the world, even in war situations, against famine, or against global unrest.
