“Batman”: Designer of the feature explains inspiration for Barry Keoghan’s Joker – Disclosure / Warner Bros.

Even after a few months since the release of “Batman” in theaters, and the release of the deleted scene from joker in Barry Keoghan, the character’s disfigured look has still been the subject of questioning among viewers. And, trying to remedy them all, the designer James Chinlund explained where his inspiration for his new Clown of Crime.

In an interview with The Illuminerdi, Chinlundspoke in detail about the meeting of the Bat Man (Robert Pattinson) It’s from joker in the famous Arkham Asylum. Also according to him, his inspiration for came from a classic film by the Japanese director. Akira Kurosawa.

“There’s a Japanese movie called ‘Heaven and Hell’. That was very inspiring for Matt, where there’s sort of a reveal, the screen goes up and they’re in this interrogation room. So I think we were really looking at different ways to reveal the characters.”clarified Chinlund.

Finally, he explained how they wanted to convey this scene to the audience. “We knew we wanted the Joker, for example, to be there but not there, and sort of layers of glass and mesh and shadow and light. So a lot of the design came from that place. How could we reveal the characters in different ways and still keep the mystery?”he added.

“Batman” follows the second year of Bruce as a vigilante, fighting crime as the embodiment of revenge. When an assassin targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld and brings him closer and closer to home.

Directed by Matt Reeves (“Planet of the Apes”), “Batman” is available on HBO Max.
