Alanis Morissette will be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame

Alanis Morissette will take her place with Canadian music legends such as Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Gilles Vigneault and La Bolduc in the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The organization made the announcement this week, adding that he was present at the induction ceremony on Sept. 24 at Massey Hall in Toronto.

Rocker Bryan Adams and his close collaborator Jim Vallance, a songwriter who has also written songs for international stars like Rod Stewart and Tina Turner, are also among this year’s inductees. Two more names will be announced later.

Charlotte Cardin, Jessie Reyez and Serena Ryder are among the artists who will perform on stage at the gala.

Alanis Morissette, musician in the background Jagged Little Pill and his hits “Ironic” and “You Oughta Know” have enjoyed domestic and international careers for more than 30 years, and released nine albums, selling more than 60 million copies.

She began her career as a pop singer as a teenager in 1987 with her single “Fate Stay With Me”. Followed Alanisin 1991, her debut album won her a Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist, as well as Single of the Year and Best Dance Recording for “Too Hot.”

A few years later, after moving to Los Angeles, the gem of alternative stone reappeared Jagged Little Pill. Released in 1995, this album became the only Canadian opus to sell more than two million copies in the country. Only Shania Twain repeated the act.

Alanis Morissette is set to embark on a North American tour this summer. He was notably in Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec, Toronto and Calgary in July.
