Daedalic Entertainment developer has finally set a new release date-September 1, 2022-for its in-the-making video game Lord of the Rings: Gollumafter the first postponement.
Players can expect to include the antihero legend in the first chapters of the first book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Incorporation of the Ring.
Against all odds, the creature wants to find the missing ring and tries to survive by climbing and stealing across the delightful sights known from the film series, including the elven kingdom of Mirkwood. Faces already known from the universe created by JRR Tolkien, and others not yet seen in films, will cross Gollum’s path on his journey.
Sméagol, his kind personality, will also be asked to make choices in certain situations.
A beautiful autumn for fans of the legend
Expect the new launch on the eve of the launch of Amazon Prime’s Lord of the Rings universe series, power rings2nd September.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles as well as on Xbox One and Series X and S devices. Nintendo Switch owners will still have to wait, as the release is planned later this year for this console.
The video game, first announced in 2019, was originally supposed to be released in 2021, but the developer had to delay release to 2022.
Many video game studios have been forced to do the same for their titles in the pipeline due to numerous development delays associated with, among other things, the COVID-19 pandemic. The most anticipated sequel of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is no exception: originally scheduled for 2022, Nintendo postponed it to the spring of 2023.
