This film is the way to welcome them in our time and also in the “exile of humanity” where, so many times, we are forced to live (to survive).

In this clipping of a documentary record, the letters and the intimacy of their words are a pretext for the exploration and restitution of the memory of the 20th century – and the many exiles and isolations that marked it – which are articulated with the plastic work of scallop and arpad, dotted with iconographic elements of their own lives and audiovisual material from the time. With images in Lisbon, Paris, Lyon, Dijón, Yèvre -le -Châtel and Rio de Janeiro.

The artists have an institute named after them, Fundação Arpad Szenes-Vieira da Silva, in Portugal. In Brazil, they are recognized by art lovers. The documentary will be released in Portugal on June 2nd, in line with Brazil.

The documentary, in addition to presenting the letters and works of the artists, brings images of the artists at their residence in France and in Rio, based on records that the friend and Brazilian painter Carlos Sclair made for his film “Stairs”, as well as photos for a photo-novel. These records were made during the years that the artists lived in Rio de Janeiro.

with the voices of Luís Lucas, Suzana Borges and Fernanda Lapaand participation of Jean-François Jaeger, Virginia Duval, Raquel Henriques Da Silva, Fábio Koifman, Paulo Herkenhoff, Frederico Morais and Marina Bairrão Ruivo.
