After two years, Vibra Open Air, the largest open-air cinema in the world, is back with its twentieth edition and with the guaranteed presence of Telecine. The event takes place until June 12, from Wednesday to Sunday, at the São Paulo Jockey Club.

The venue will host Telecine Nights, on Fridays, which will promote a special tribute to national cinema with sessions followed by unprecedented shows. The selected titles were chosen to stir the affective memory and emotion of moviegoers contemplating various genres: “City of God” (27/5), “Eduardo e Mônica” (3/6) and “Minha Mãe É uma Peça” (12 /6).

Oscar nominee “City of God” Fernando Meirelles, celebrates 20 years of launch and will be the big star of the program, opening the event this Friday, May 27th. In addition to the feature, “Manguefonia”, an unprecedented project in honor of the 30 years of the manguebeat movement with musicians from Nação Zumbi, Mundo Livre SA, Devotos, Banda Eddie, Mestre Ambrósio and Devotos do Ódio, will be presented at Vibra Open Air.

On June 3, it will be the turn to honor “Eduardo e Mônica”, the recently released adaptation with Alice Braga and Gabriel Leone. After the session, Lucio Mauro Filho and Pedro Baby will make the first presentation of the project “The Natural Law of Encounters” in São Paulo. The show features the participation of Fran Gil and Carlos Trilha.

Finally, the event will honor the eternal genius of humor Paulo Gustavo on June 10, celebrating the legacy and irreverence of the artist, his greatest character, Dona Hermínia, with “Minha Mãe É uma Peça”. Afterwards, a surprise show with Drik Barbosa and Bivolt ends the night.

“This year’s edition not only marks the 20th anniversary of the event, but also the long-standing partnership between Telecine and Open Air. We are very happy to walk together from the beginning and return after the two-year hiatus bringing the Telecine Nights and the representation of national cinema”, account Ana Beatriz ParenteTelecine’s Communication and Branding manager, in a note.
