The news was revealed by series showrunners Robert and Michelle King.
The sixth season of “The Good Fight”, the Paramount+ series, will also be the last. According to the Varietythe last episodes of the production arrive in the catalog of streaming on September 8, marking the official farewell to the program aired since 2017.
During an interview with the vehicle, the showrunners of the series, Robert and Michelle Kingstated that the decision to end “The Good Fight” with a sixth season of ten episodes is a matter of not wanting to “exceed the welcome”. “We felt like we could end the series with a big bang. That’s better than getting to a season where we’d have trouble finding a plot. We thought Season 6 could take us off the stage in a big way.”explained Robert.
“Today, where the [séries] feature films are more the exception than the norm and where discerning audiences have so much choice for quality content, the success and longevity of these series is testament to how excellent both shows have been. David Zucker and I, and the entire team at Scott Free Television, couldn’t be more grateful for this experience.”added the executive producer, Ridley Scottwho was also present in the chat.
The production premiered in February 2017 as a spin off of CBS’s Emmy-winning legal drama “The Good Wife,” which ran from 2009 to 2016. In “The Good Fight” the arcs are better clarified, especially when an economic coup throws a young lawyer’s name into the mud and ends up with savings Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski), her mentor. After being sent out on the street, the two join one of Chicago’s most promising firms, where they will work alongside Lucas Quinn (Cush Jumbo).
The cast is still made up of Sarah Steelehow Marissa; Rose Lesliehow Maya; nyambihow Jay; Audra McDonaldhow Liz; and Delroy Lindohow Adrian.
