South Korean director and screenwriter Hwang Dong-Hyukfrom the series “Round 6”, has already started work on his next feature, entitled “Killing Old People Club”, a film slightly inspired by a novel by Umberto Eco.

According to Variety, the project is expected to be as controversial and controversial as the Netflix series, and it already has a 25-page script ready. “The film will be more violent than ‘Round 6’“, said Dong-Hyuk.

What is known of the film so far is the title, which suggests the existence of a club to hunt or kill the elderly. Production should still take a while to start filming as the South Korean director is working on the 2nd season of “Round 6”, which should arrive on Netflix only in 2024.

After the awards season, Dong-Hyuk said that the biggest compliment he received about the series came from Steven Spielbergwho told him that he wanted “steal (your) brain”.

The plot shows a mysterious invitation to join a game, which is sent to people at risk who urgently need money. Soon, 456 contestants from all walks of life are locked away in a secret location where they play to win 45.6 billion won (series currency). Each game is a traditional Korean children’s game, but the consequence of losing is death.

The first season is available on Netflix.
