Yesterday, Tuesday 31 May, the popular rock group Las Pastillas del Abuelo celebrated its 20 years of history with a special event for its fans, broadcast days before on its social networks.
It was on the group’s official YouTube channel and the broadcast was in the format of a television program, with Ayelén Velázquez as the host.
The band recalled the details of their first show in La Colorada, 20 years ago. There were fans who won tickets on Fm Mega and home videos from those early years were also shown. Then they gave a live recital.
As usual in these cases, the outcome of the event was the announcement of a great concert: on September 20 they will play at the Luna Park.

A career full of successes
Las Pastillas del Abuelo members are Piti Fernández (vocals), Alejandro Mondelo (keyboards), Santiago Bogisich (bass), Bochi Bozzalla (guitar), Fernando Vecchio (guitar), Juan Comas (drums) and Joel Barbeito (on sax) .
The band was born in 2002 and its fame begins with the demo “El Sensei”, a song that played a lot in rock radio, to the point that at the time of their first major concert, May 31, 2002, a group of supporters with flags and identified by a name of “fan” was already present, showing all the typical behaviors of groups of loyal supporters of neighborhood rock bands.
Over the years the group has created its own style and has also faced challenges such as music for a recital in the setting of the “blind theater”, with the La Trastienda room in total darkness, with songs created together with the poet Alberto Sueiro in a work on Ringo Bonavena.
In all these years on the road, Las Pastillas del Abuelo has performed in numerous emblematic festivals in Argentina, such as Pepsi Music, Gesell Rock, Baradero Rock, Cosquín Rock, Olavarría Rock, BA Rock, Pilsen Rock and Taragui Rock.
Likewise, they sold out all seats in the main theaters and stadiums of the country, such as El Teatro, Teatro Flores, Vorterix, La Trastienda, Ferrocarril Oeste, the Atenas de La Plata stadium, the Malvinas Argentinas stadium, Parque Roca, Luna Park, Movistar Arena, Obras Sanitarias, Plaza de la Música in Córdoba, the Rosario Hippodrome, Tecnópolis, DirecTV Arena and the Palermo Hippodrome, among others.
They also toured the rest of the country with great success, as well as much of Latin America and Europe.
The discography of the group consists of albums such as For collector (2005), Grandpa’s pills (2006), Crisis (2008), Versions (2010), challenges (2011), The neighborhood in your hands (2014), paradoxes (2015) and live on pills (2020).
