Filming of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” officially begins this Thursday (2) – Reproduction / Twitter

The filming of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”, a new series inspired by the book by Rick Riordan, “The Lightning Thief”, officially started this Thursday (2), and left fans euphoric with the moment. The news had already been announced in February of this year, even before the trio of protagonists was revealed.

“Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief”, first book in the series written by Riordanfollows a teenager discovering that all the bizarre things that happened in his childhood, like being expelled from school several times and even being attacked by the teacher, were caused by him being the son of god Poseidon. Because of this, he ends up in a camp for half-bloods – the children of Greek gods with humans -, where he learns to control his divine powers and embarks on several adventures.

The plot of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has not yet been revealed, but we know that the main cast will be formed by Walker Scobbell (“The Adam Project”), as percy; Leah Jeffries (“Empire”), as Annabeth Chase; and Aryan Simhadri (“Twelve is Too Much”), which will live the guardian Grover.

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” had already been announced in 2020, but since then many negotiations have taken place until Disney officially ordered the production. Riordan and Jon Steinberg write the pilot episode that will be directed by James Bodin (“Alice Through the Looking Glass” and “The Mysterious Society Benedict”).
