Singer-songwriter Maude Audet launched a very personal cover of the great Quebec rock classic on Thursday Illegaloriginally sung by Marjo with his band, Corbeau.
The piece is arranged simply, in a folk style, with guitar and banjo-guitar by Maude Audet, and the bass of his partner Philippe Brault.
While having fun making covers, alone with his guitar one quiet night, he sang it for the first time, according to a press release. With the force of the text I was carried to the stomach. A thunder that led me, in all modesty, to creating this native and stripped versionhe explained.
The piece was designed for the soundtrack of the Club illico series Leo, whose fourth season will be available since Thursday. It is accessible on online listening platforms (New window).
The original song was born from the pen of Marjo and Donald Paul Hince, the Corbeau guitarist, who died in 2019.
