Susanna, Dance Me to the End of Loveat Hallelujah is part of Leonard Cohen’s new album that airs this Friday, June 3. 17 songs covering, for the first time, his entire career.
Hallelujah and Songs from His Albums along with an unseen performance of Hallelujah shot at the Glastonbury Festival in 2008. The album is now available in digital version. It will be released this fall on CD and translucent blue vinyl (2LP), the latter will be offered in a limited edition.
This new album is intended as a supplement to the documentary Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Songwhich premiered at the latest Venice Film Festival and will be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.
This documentary explores the life of the late singer and poet in Montreal through the story of one of his most famous songs, Hallelujah. It was directed by Dan Geller and Dayna Goldfine and inspired the book The Holy or the Broken: Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley and the Likely Ascent of Hallelujahby author Alan Light.
The documentary was approved for production by Leonard Cohen before his 80th birthday in 2014.
The album also includes songs I am your man, In my secret life, Recitation w/ NL (A Thousand Kisses Deep) at Thanks for the Dance.
