Drawings by Dany Laferrière presented at the UN

About two years after its inauguration in Montreal, the exhibition A wandering heartwhich returns to the life and career of writer Dany Laferrière, debuted on Monday at the UN headquarters in New York.

Inspired by the first three drawn novels by a member of the French Academy – Self-Portrait of Paris with Cat, On another coast at Exile is worth the trip – the exhibition is an invitation to UN staff and diplomats take an interest in the universe of this world famous artist who is celebrated all over the French -speaking worldindicates the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership.

At every crossroads in our lives, we should try to do what we have never done before. For me, it is, write by hand, and draw like a childexplained Dany Laferrière at the opening on Monday.

Back to Montreal

A wandering heart was first shown at the Promenade des Artistes in the Quartier des Spectacles, from August to November 2020. The following fall, it traveled to Germany, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates.

It was made to mark the 35-year career of the Quebec writer who came from Haitian.

The exhibition will return to the Quebec metropolis this summer, at the Bouquiniste site, in Montreal North.
