Larry, the new series from the creators of Life, Life, will launch in July

The detective series larry, produced by the duo consisting of Stéphane Bourguignon and Patrice Sauvé, will be offered from July 14 to subscribers on ICI Tou.tv Extra, then at the beginning of the school year on ICI Télé. Another series will be discovered this summer: the French version of The Porter.

larry tells the story of a 62-year-old former undercover police officer who has lost favor with a history of corruption.

The character played by Benoît Gouin is unfortunately caught in the middle of a shootout between two gangs on the street with his wife, whose drama will leave him with a permanent disability. Damaged by the tragedy and feeling responsible for the accident, he decides to find himself those responsible for his death.

The series will also star Sharon James, Irdens Exantus, Anglesh Major, Germain Houde, Naïla Louidort as well as Monique Spaziani, who plays France, Larry’s wife, and Macha Limonchik, who plays her police friend.

[Larry] is an antihero advancing alongside the police system. And again, our Montreal is what we love dearly, the Parc-Extension, the urbanity, the wealth of our city, its complexity, its confrontations of culturessaid director Patrice Sauvé at a press conference last summer.

Note that Patrice Sauvé did life, life and that Stéphane Bourguignon wrote this broadcast series 20 years ago.

The wearera CBC series on the history of Montreal’s black baggage handlers

Another fiction will be offered on ICI Tou.tv Extra, from August 4. This is the series The wearerthe French version of The Porter, produced by CBC. The plot, inspired by real events, took place just after the First World War, in the district of Little Burgundy, in Montreal, which was then called Harlem du Nord.

The series follows the story of two former soldiers, Junior and Zeke, looking for work as porters for a railroad company, one of the few jobs available to black men at the time. It refers in particular to the efforts made by porters to improve their condition, which led to the creation of a union: the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters.

Dubbing of the characters in French will be ensured along with others by Patrick Emmanuel Abellard, Mireille Métellus, Marie-Evelyne Lessard, Widemir Normil, Fayolle Jean Jr, Sacha Charles, Fayolle Jean SR, Pierre-Yves Lord, Irdens Exantus and Schelby Jean- Baptiste.
