While reporting tweets is already offered on the social network, this new feature offers more options to explain any issue the post is causing.

During its trial, Twitter saw the number of reports increase by 50%. The company was able to remove more content that violated its policy.

This new technique allows for a wide variety of reporting, from misinformation to spam, including harassment and hate speech. It is now available in most countries, both on the web and on iOS and Android platforms.

Previously, Twitter would first ask which policy was violated, then a brief description of the issue. Now the social network is asking for details about what happened, before moving on to the broken policies.

In a blog post where Twitter explains the new way to report a problematic post, the process is compared to a medical consultation. If your leg is broken, the doctor doesn’t say, is your leg broken? He asks where it hurts.

However, it seems that the functionality is not yet available in languages other than English.

Moderating publications has always been an issue for Twitter, which has been trying for years to find a better way to work. The company is regularly criticized for being slow in responding to people’s complaints, especially when it comes to flagging tweets.

In addition, the social network is in the spotlight in an attempt to capture Elon Musk, which has yet to be fixed.
